I don’t know how it has escaped my attention for so long, but my latest venue obsession is Longview Gallery which apparently opened in 2006 in the Shaw Neighborhood of Washington DC. How it took me 3 years to discover it, I will never know. This place was brought to my attention just a few days ago by wedding planner Terri Eaves…and now I can’t stop thinking about it and visiting the website. I had my own wedding at Halcyon House a little over a year ago but had I known about this venue, it would have been a close 2nd for sure.

So if you’re a bit of an unbride, Longview Gallery is definitely worth looking into! Or if you have any excuse to host a party of any sort…do it here. Right now I’m trying to think of a reason to have some sort of event…all suggestions are appreciated! :)

Here’s a little blurb I stole from the website:

Part gallery/part event space, Long View Gallery’s new home boasts a bevy of desirable attributes. With 5,000 sq ft and 20 ft ceilings, the space can hold up to 400 guests for corporate events and private functions.  Modern track lighting along with accommodations for caterers, DJs, and access to the historic Blagden Alley, make the Gallery a premiere spot for hosting and gathering. The venue’s blank canvas appeal and flexibility to work all types of events and budgets makes the space highly desirable and completely unique in the metro area.

i think longview gallery just moved to this site very recently, which is why we didn’t know about it. they had a small space before, and a big gallery in rappahannock county. this space is so cool.
