The past two Valentine’s Days I’ve volunteered with a group of women who put on an event at area nursing homes called “Pretty & Polished.” Volunteers go to over a dozen nursing homes in the DC metro area to give simple manicures to the ladies and spend a little time with them to make them feel special. It’s the sweetest event and the women love sharing some girl time! I’ve been working through the images from this past year and wanted to share some:
It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged… I wish I had a better excuse than I’ve been busy, but that’s all I’ve got :) I would like to thank Tara & Edd for their patience in seeing their photos, but it’s my hope that it was worth the wait! (How about an extra long post to make up for it?!) We met a few weekends ago at the National Harbor and spent a few hours together. While I don’t usually shoot sessions in the bleak winter months here, we had had some beautiful light that day, and we made the best of the snow that was still around. They are a beautiful couple and it was so sweet to find out that they actually met when they were just 16 years old. I’m so looking forward to their wedding this summer! Meet Tara & Edd:

Yosef Statman was going to get his first haircut, a major event in his religion, and so we did these portraits right before the big day, to document the old Yosef. He was a total charmer and adores his papa. Then we did a studio session after the cut. He’d grown up!

Last week I got to meet and photograph their second baby, Alexi, who is only about 2 months old. She’ll be in for another session when she can sit up, at about 7 months, along with her big brother Adin.
