For the third week in a row, I travelled outside the DC metro area for a mini-destination wedding. This particular wedding was special to me for many reasons- I’ve known Lauren’s family and friends since I was just 8 years old! Their wedding was held in Richmond Virginia at The American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar. I would like to dedicate these photos to Lauren, Matt, and their families, especially those who were unable to attend the wedding. We love you, and we missed you greatly. These are some of the highlights from the day, and here is their full slideshow.

Meet the lovely Lauren… I had to confess to her that as kids, I was always a bit intimidated by her as she was my friend’s older sister that I thought was just so cool and so pretty! Lauren got ready at the Linden Row Inn in downtown Richmond.

Too easy to photograph, with a little old-Hollywood vibe:

Lauren met up with Matt down by the water to do some portraits before the ceremony. This was the first time I had the chance to meet Matt, and I thought he looked quite handsome with his bride:

Matt’s sweet niece was the flower girl:

The reception began with an amazing performance by the Latin Ballet of Virginia, the company that Lauren dances with.

Hello, Oakton High School crew!

Love you guys, thank you for inviting me to share in your day!

The week after returning from shooting in New Orleans, I travelled down to Charlottesville on a gorgeous Saturday to photograph Michelle and Jad Donohoe’s wedding at Keswick Hall. The Donohoe family and friends have been with Studio Diana for several years now, and I was honored to have the opportunity to photograph their special day for them. A big thank you to Michelle Elliot for coming all the way from Kentucky to join me!

Michelle (photographer Michelle, not bride Michelle!) went and checked on Jad as he prepared next door:

Michelle and Jad opted to see each other prior to the ceremony to take their portraits, and they met for the first time on the Lawn of the UVA campus. Jad was one of the lucky UVA students who got to live on the Lawn in school… I was so jealous and I didn’t even go their!

Michelle and dad, right before their ceremony at the UVA Chapel:

Limos are nice, but pick-up trucks are more fun!

Keswick Hall looked beautiful in the evening light. Cocktails and dinner were held on the back patio, and dancing took place just inside in the ballroom area.

Sometimes I feel like I don’t know how to pick which photos to show on the blog (and I want to post something ridiculous like 1,000)… so check out Michelle and Jad’s slideshow to see more!

Today I have something a little new and different to share. A few weeks ago, I travelled to New Orleans, Louisiana to shoot Emily and Ian’s wedding. It was one of my first real destination weddings, and to a city that I’ve never visited before! I wanted to do something special since it wasn’t the typical wedding for me, so I decided to take Justine’s advice and start exploring the video function on my Canon 5D Mark II. I’m not trying to be a videographer by any means, and if there’s one thing I learned it’s that shooting video is a real art! My goal was to capture little clips here and there simply to enhance the still photos I was taking. Here is what I came up with:

Emily & Ian’s NOLA Wedding from Jenni Green on Vimeo.

Kinda fun, huh? Here are some of my favorite stills from the day:

The ceremony was at City Park, a cool enough location on it’s own. But then I learned that Ian’s great-grandparents were the artists who created all of the sculptures in the garden!

A jazz band was there for the ceremony music!

Oh, hi friends… y’all clean up good!

This was our 6th portrait session with the Rodriguez family. We started with  Aiden as a newborn, and now he’s a big boy, as you can see.  Many of the Rodriguez family portraits are included in the baby and family galleries on our website.

I just returned from an amazing trip to New Orleans to photograph a friend’s wedding an experience the city for the first time. Between beignets, street jazz, the art, spicy alligator for breakfast, city park, old, old mossy oak trees and a beautiful wedding, I think I’m in love :) More to come soon:
